Afternoon tea brewed up at Himley

Indulgent afternoon teas are being served at Himley Hall – and could be the perfect gift with Mother’s Day fast approaching, a council boss has said.

The 18th century historic building, which has entertained royalty and gentry, offers the special and exclusive experience throughout the year.

It includes blended teas, homemade sandwiches, cakes and scones served in one of the period rooms.

Visitors can then enjoy the Capability Brown landscaped grounds and visit the south galleries to view work by local artists.

Prices are £25 per person and includes sparkling prosecco. Gift vouchers are available online and once purchased are valid for 12 months.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:

"With Mother’s Day just around the corner I’m sure there will be lots of people wondering how best to treat their mums.
"I can highly recommend our afternoon teas at Himley, with high quality food and drink in a magnificent setting. It was good enough for the royals and famous faces in the roaring twenties after all! And if you buy a gift voucher, the recipient will be able to book a date to suit them within a 12-month period."

Afternoon tea at Himley must be pre-booked and dates are currently available most Thursdays until the end of June – visit www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk for a full list of current availability. Vouchers can be booked online or by calling the venue on (01384) 817817.
