Witch Trials in the West Midlands

Step inside historic Himley Hall for a rare look at the beliefs, anxieties, and accusations that once gripped our region. From local superstitions to the real stories behind the witch trials, this event explores how ordinary Midlands lives were transformed by suspicion and rumours.

Join us between 11am and 1pm for a free exhibition and display, featuring objects, art, regional folklore, and the hidden history of protective magic. Plus a pop-up shop of books, artwork, and other spooky items!

At 1.30pm, settle in for a special talk (booking required) led by Damian, author of A Gathering of Witches and Witchcraft in the West Midlands. Drawing on decades of research, he reveals how witchcraft was understood, feared, and legislated — and why these stories still matter today.

All set within the atmospheric surroundings of historic Himley Hall, where centuries of belief and imagination meet.
